Photos from GRAMMA'S 90th BIRTHDAY and Family Reunion

I'd love it if you could send me some photos in an email that I could also add and give you props for... I just have some video I want to post as well and then I will also lable everyone's names, etc...

Far left -- Mary, Doris, Donna on the picnic table; in the middle, back to front -- Kathy, Don, Teresa, Brian; on the far right -- Cheryl, Linda, Gramma and Sandi...

Yummy Birthday Cake from Costco! 8D

MMMmmm... Golfing, anyone? 8d

Gramma takes her first peek at her Birthday Present: the scrapbook with all her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids...

L-R: Chris, David, Laurel & Paul (in back), Alex in the middle with Abbie in front on her lap, Jodi-Lynn presenting the photo scrapbook to Gramma... Hiding behind Gramma is Matt (I think), Tyler, Luca, Sam, Brandon and Mary...

Another quick pic of Sandi, Jodi-Lynn, Gramma and Matt...

Now THAT'S a beautiful smile! 8D Love you Gramma! X X O O

Chris hanging out with Dakota....

Traci, Bob and Doris... Aha! Finally got a shot of Traci and Bob! Did I mention Bob just did a tri-athlon .5 iron-man competition and then came out to visit Gramma on her birthday?

Hm... I was worried I might run into some crazy mountain man, but this looks like a relatively sane foothills husband. Ain't he cute? 8D

Alex and Abbie hangin' out...

I had no idea an Alpaca kid was called a Cria...

I was like, okay, how about taking the picture right NOW!?!?

Gainer is such a show-off... He liked watching the Alpacas from a distance but he declined a bare-back ride.

Aaaaw.... BABEEEEEEEE!

Nice of David to get a shot or two of me, as I tend to take all the pictures... lol

It's Brian... I mean Sean.... lol

Our New House

Here are a few shots of our house, inside and out...

Goldenmound shrub...

Red Flax:

A poppy...

Our huge side-yard... Potential for an addition or a corral...

The front view of the house in summer of 2009 in all the shade from the Elms and Pine trees...

Me and David Barbecuing in the back yard...

Inside view from the front door to the kitchen area...

Hollyhocks at the bathroom window... Perhaps we should have grown something with more aroma... lol

Our resident bunny... He doesn't seem to cause much trouble. He mostly just sits under our trees resting in the shade or sheltering from the rain...

Our new dishwasher from David's mom, Joline... We couldn't install a built-in because our wiring & plumbing is weird. We live on a concrete pad with no basement, so for some reason, our plumbing is on the outside of the wall, but inside our kitchen cupboards.

The livingroom... Yes the furniture was from the Brick. No we didn't get all our furniture at once... We got our loveseat in November 2008 and our couch in March of 2009.

Did I mention we moved into this place in October of 2008? Well it has been mentioned now...

(above) One of the shots inside the house from the front door to the kitchen...

Crab apple tree outside our house between the garage and house...

Lambs Ear!

Snow-on-the-mountain in the summer time!

Some New Photos

Seems like I just saved these photos as draft... Forgot to publish them... Well, as an update... This year (2010) we've had a wetter than water spring... Drenching. So I have blue balm from my dad's garden and these turned out to be a kind of anemone, not snow-on-the-mountain as I was first told by a friend of mine. Anyway, I have transplanted some of these white flowers to the backyard and am planning on planting the bee balm out by our alley. We have nothing by grass and weeds out between the driveway/garage and alley so thought it would be nice to plant some envasive plants like bee balm, snowdrop anemone, rudbeckia (AKA Black-eyed Susans), Lamb's Ear, and chamomile (those little daisies)... Let them all fight for dominance, I say, and perhaps next year I will add something more.

My Poor Neglected Site....

I really should make more of an effort to put some of my pictures on this site...

I do everything off Facebook now... But perhaps I can attach my Blog to my Facebook updates like I used to...

I'll keep you posted...

Thanks for coming to our BBQ!

Hey all!

I just wanted to thank everyone for a wonderful time!

We saw Larry, Tara, Dave H, Ashlea, Keith, Carla, Leah, Ryan, Emerson, Cathie, Pete, Margie, Jim, Nancy, Chelsey and Brett (and Buster of course!)... And of course, David and I were happy to host everything!

You poor saps who thought it was too cool missed out on the fun! It may have rained in the East End, but other than the morning damp that dried up nicely it was dry as a bone.

We had some S'mores, burgers, hotdogs, and Nancy was a sweetheart - she brought the urn so we could serve Hot Chocolate!

Thanks for coming! Let's do something like this again, shall we?

Sept 6, 2008 BBQ Pit Party; Noon-9pm

HEY! The BBQ is still going on as planned!

The forecast is cool etc, and it WAS rainy this morning, but no more rain now! 8D
We're starting at noon and going until 9PM as planned.
No one is expected to stay or come for the whole thing so if you just want to pop by for some S'mores between lunch n supper or after supper you are welcome.
Ice tea will be served during the afternoon, and Nancy Shiplack is bringing over a BIG urn so we can keep some Hot Chocolate on hand for later in the day.
Dress warm!

BBQ Pit Party
Sept 6, 2008 (Weather Premitting)
Noon-9pm
2237 Edward Street
Sasktel folk: Please be advised that you can invite anyone you wish from the 7th floor, as well as a friend/beloved/kids.

If you come you'll see some old former StarTek pals as well as current Sasktel folks... And perhaps meet some new people.
Please advise how many people are coming with you and a rough idea of when you're coming!

This year's theme: We're supplying copious amounts of graham crackers & marshmallows, but you get to bring the topping (alcholic, chocoholic, or otherwise Bring Your Own Topping)...

Bring Your Own Food: Burgers/dogs & fixings if you like: we have quite a lot of room on our BBQ Pit, and we can also break out the new camp stove if necessary. And of course we get to christen the new BbQ kit I ordered for the Sasktel 100 Yr Old Birthday Present. We'll supply ketchup, mustard, relish & paper plates, plastic glasses.

BYOB: We shall make our green tea/white grape juice drink/lime (for those of you who enjoyed it at the garage sale & requested it again) - you have the option of course of adding your own choice of mixer to that (or it tastes very refreshing on its own as well), or of course bring what you'd like.

You can bring your kids, just keep in mind we don't have a gated yard and we're at a dead-end street with no houses to one side or across the street: lots of field, an old abandoned schoolyard (taken over by weeds and gophers), but also lots of lawn and trees in our yard.

If you bring your dog,
I'm sure you will be polite and bring a leash, bring something to clean up doggie messes, and please realize that there are other dogs in the neighbourhood (under leash or fenced, but they may be out in the field or alley with their owners, and a dog may be able to escape our yard or leap the short fence).

RECIPE IDEAS:
Some recipes for S'mores... Including some healthy choices and choices for diabetics.

Other options: more yummy stuff you could pierce with a stick and roast over coals.

Italian S'mores! Not for kids!

Raspberry Liqueur S'mores!

Here are some ideas for hamburgers and hotdogs:

- instead of typical hotdog buns, try President's Choice flatbread.

- cook up lots of onions, peppers, mushrooms and grate some cheese: if you wrap it in a hamburger or hotdog bun with tinfoil separately from your dog and cook them both; you get a yummy toasted burger or dog with fixins..

- choose stuff that tastes terrific inside hamburger mix: grated or chopped onion/chives/leeks, onion soup mix, flour or oats, chopped mushrooms, grated cheese, egg white, seasonings of your choice, honey, crushed or finely chopped garlic.
